Speedball007, 2008 Edition will still be the weekend AFTER the September long weekend (September 6th and 7th); the overnight stay will be at the Best Western in Nelson BC, same as last year. There will be a price increase this year to $100.00 per person; this will include a golf shirt that each person will order with their Speeball registration. June 30th is the DEADLINE for signing up for this event for ALL participants, after June 30th,… well, let’s just say, your shit outta luck as golf shirts will not be available the order will be placed and no extra shirts will be ordered. A BBQ dinner and awards Sunday night will also be included in your registration fee.

If you are a single person, we will have a singles sign up and will pool the singles till we can make a full team out of them, so don't be shy, throw your name in the hat and you will be in and ready to go while your fence sitter friends decide if they are going or not. There is only room for 48 players again this year (12 teams).

This year will see some changes in the SB format;

We will be meeting Saturday 7 am SHARP, at the same spot as last year (Starbucks corner of Hollywood Road and HWY #33). At 7 am there will be a players meeting, one 1 person from each 4 member team will attend the meeting (if you’re not there for the 7 am meeting, you will be on your own) so if this is important to you, please be there early.

This year there will be a 1st place cash prize only, no second and third place prizes…sorry

In Nelson on Saturday night, I will try to book a restaurant for dinner that everyone can attend to try to keep people together instead of floating around looking for each other.

Last year we had a problem with the task's at the end of the game (some people didn't get to do tasks) this year we will require that the tasks be carried out in a time frame which will be laid out at the beginning of the game, and if you miss out on the tasks, then you miss out on the points awarded for the task.

Same as last year, picture cards must be submitted to the SB staff for points, make sure that the card submitted is CLEAR of all non SB related pictures. Please use a different camera to take any pictures that are not part of the game. It is frustrating and time consuming to sift through pictures and try to figure out what they are.

The Sunday night BBQ dinner will be announced at the meeting place Saturday morning and an address will be on your assignment sheet. The beer last year was supplied by Steve Dick of Motovan (Thanks Steve and sorry you didn't make it) This year we hope Steve and his team will make it ,but you will have to bring your own beer if you want a drink with dinner, because Steve don't buy beer for no one 2 years in a row !
